A Trip to Broken Hill and Tibooburra

Do you want to play at the Albert Hall?

The Broken Hill Civic Orchestra has thrown out an invite to any musicians who would like them for a concert at the Albert Hall.

This is of the course the world famous Albert Hall that all musicians aspire to perofrm at and I am not talking about the small insignificant Albert Hall in London … I am talking about the Albert Hall in outback Tiboorburra.

If you are interested you will have to email Mark Walton so he can make sure there is a seat on the bus.

Broken Hill

The first rehearsal will be in Broken Hill on Friday June 6th at 7pm and then on the next day we will set off for Tiboorburra on the coach. We will perform to a raptuous audience on the Sunday at the Albert Hall in fascinating Tibooburra and return to Broken Hill on the Sunday.

Mark will be conducting the Broken Hill Civic Orchestra for this weekend workshop and concert and it is certain to be a musical and social event that you will never forget.

Mungindi Explorers Tour

July 3 – 8th 2008 Mungindi and District Musical Tour

Hundreds of musicians visited Mungindi for the extraordinary Music Festivals in 2005 and 2007 but they were so busy they never had the opportunity to explore this fascinating part of Australia.

To rectify the situation Mark and Jo Walton are hosting a musical Mungindi Explorers Tour starting on July 3rd for six days. This will be very similar to the 2006 Thermos Tour to the South Island of New Zealand except there won’t be so many mountains and it will be a lot warmer!

Musicians of all abilities are warmly welcomed to join in all of the fun.

We will rehearse in the morning, often in very atmospheric and interesting locations and then in the afternoon we will set off exploring to such places as Lightning Ridge, Collarenebri and the historic Ninidigully Pub You will always need to bring your instruemtn because you just never know where you might end up playing!

Within the next few days the exciting schedule will be up on this webpage — we are just waiting on the good ladies of Mungindi to work out when we will have our first home cooked scones and cream. Margaret Harrison has started cooking the slice.

Did I mention that we will be performing at the famous Mungindi Races on Saturday July 5th and of course you will need to dress for the occasion.
