Music Festival Weekend in Gilgandra and Coonabarabran

Due to the generosity of the Conservatorium High Association of Old Students (CHAOS) Mark was awarded the 2007 Memorial Award to continue his long running outreach programme in NSW. With this award Mark is organising a Festival involving musicians young and old from Coonamble, Warren, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Baradine, Coonabarabran, Trangie and Mungindi

Ensembles from both Gilgandra and Coonabarabran performed at the Festival along with Bated Breath from Mungindi, Catastrophic Winds from Sydney and others.  The second half of the show featured all performers in the premières of Mark Walton’s new children’s musical Leonard and the Lottery Ticket. Choirs and instrumentalists rehearsed at Gilgandra for the big show at 7pm at the Gilgandra Town Hall which was repeated the next day at 11am in Coonabarabran. Mark rehearsed with mosty of the groups in preparation for this very exciting musical event.
